Leonbergers At Work � Versatility Awards Program

The Leonberger is an extremely intelligent and versatile breed, capable and willing of undertaking almost any task that you, as an owner, may want to try.

To encourage all Leo owners to expand their dog�s versatile nature and working ability, the Leonberger Club of Ontario has introduced the Working Leo Versatility Awards Program. 

The Program covers everything from overall soundness to various activities including, but not limited to, all aspects of competitive obedience, draft work, public relations, assistance work , herding, canine sports, bomb detection / SAR work and, of course, conformation titles.

How does it work ?

Beginning with the Versatility Entry Level Program, Leos who have begun working towards a level of accomplishment as a versatile working dog are recognized by points that are allocated for various things completed by the dog.  Leo owners and their dogs can then build upon that foundation towards the accreditation of Versatility Companion (VC) where further points are awarded.   It is then possible to progress to the Versatility Companion Excellent (VCX) and beyond to the Versatility Champion (VCH).   The VC, VCX and VCH levels have been designed to recognize Leos who have proven their competence as versatile working dogs.
